Luke Winslow-King Live at Stony Lake

Bloodshot Records recording artist Luke Winslow-King is a hard man to pin down. Between the New Orleans Jazz Festival, European tours and major music festivals and clubs across the United States, he's always on the go. But when he finds himself back home in Cadillac enjoying family or a great trout stream, he knows that Acoustic Routes Concerts always has a stage waiting for him just a car ride away.

Luke's work is an eclectic mix that combines Mississippi delta blues, folk music, traditional jazz, and roots rock & roll. His alchemical songs blend contemporary ideas with styles from bygone eras, producing a sound that is rustic and urbane, elegant and entirely his own. It looks to the past to move to the future. This along with his burgundy voice, dapper attire and versatile guitar playing have earned him a reputation as a musician who delivers soulfully energetic and dynamic performances.

His show tonight is a solo effort, which provides an intimate window into the true power of his best songs.

The cover is $15 at the door and 100% goes to the artist.

An Evening with Luke Winslow-King

Fresh from a summer tour of Europe, Acoustic Routes presents Bloodshot Records recording artist Luke Winslow-King of New Orleans.

Luke is a singer, composer and lyricist known for his slide guitar work, and the New York Times describes his music as, “A boiled-down live, almost improvised sound that seamlessly melds Delta blues, gospel and jazz themes with personal, simplified lyrics that speak to his personal and artistic evolution.” Offbeat Magazine said, “Like all good troubadours, Winslow-King balances that blatant power with the sexy, sweet come-on lilt.”

Olivia Millerschin Live at Stony Lake Brewing wsg Jake Enos

Olivia Millerschin wrote her first song before she turned 14. She won a Grand Prize in the 2014 John Lennon Songwriting contest sponsored by Yoko Ono and that same year she made it to the finals of NBC’s America’s Got Talent, where she performed at Radio City Music Hall in New York (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zVWncskO02I).

One Saturday, June 10 at 8 p.m., Acoustic Routes Concerts is bringing her to Saline, where she’ll perform in front on an intimate crowd at Stony Lake Brewing, 447 E. Michigan Ave.

"Look Both Ways," her second full-length album, which was released last year, infuses all of the clever lyrics, haunting melodies and colorful folk, pop and soulful elements she’s noted for. The album’s title reflects Olivia’s quest to “look both ways”– relish in the good and proceed with caution when necessary – in a complex music industry and world.

The song “Long Weekend” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jqY92Ys52FQ) is an ode to love found and quickly lost and features artist Michael Grubbs, known to his fans as Wakey Wakey, from the hit TV show “One Tree Hill.”

The song “When” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_ljY2BN-HE) features Sawyer Fredericks, the 2015 winner of The Voice.

Her version of the 1920’s French song “Parlez-Moi D’Amour” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AGTwjo5NNO8) is featured on a Republic Records companion album to author Mitch Albom’s book “The Magic Strings of Frankie Presto” alongside musical greats Ingrid Michaelson and Tony Bennett.

Jake Enos is a singer-songwriter from Saline who has performed at The Ark, Grillin' and been a guest on Tree Town Sounds on 107.1 WQKL-FM. He has opened for artists including Grammy-winning guitarist Al Petteway and Luke Winslow-King.

The cover charge is $15 at the door and 100 percent of the proceeds go to the artists.
